The "Beat the Train Team Triathlon" will not be held on June 20, 2010 as previously scheduled, race organizer Ian Wickett announced today.

Wickett said that various pressures, work, community, and family, have prevented him from completing all of the necessary arrangements for a safe and fun event.

"I regret that we will not be holding this event this June as it has been held continuously for many years. However, there is a large number of significant activities in June of each year that have made obtaining volunteers and participants difficult.

"For a couple of years," Wickett continued, "we have been discussing the idea of holding "Beat the Train" at the end of the season. It is a fun event, not the standard competitive triathlon, and would be a nice way to round out the season. In the next couple of months we will be exploring this idea more fully."

The Salmon Arm Classic Triathlon on July 25, 2010 will be proceeding as usual.
